Ingredients

  • ½ C Pioneer® Sugar
  • ¼ C water
  • ½ lb. almonds, blanched & shredded
  • 8 oz. mini semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 3 egg whites
  • 2 C Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 300° F. Butter and flour cookie sheets; set aside.
  2. Cook Pioneer® Sugar and water together until syrup spins a thread; stir in almonds and chocolate morsels. Stir to melt chocolate; remove from heat.
  3. In mixing bowl beat egg whites very stiff. Add Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar by spoonfuls beating constantly. Add chocolate and almond mixture. Put ½ tsp. of dough on prepared cookie sheets about 2-inches apart. Bake until dry (about 25 minutes). Let stand 10 minutes before removing from pan.
