Cherry Nut Slices

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ C flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 C unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 C Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar
  • 2 T milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 C soft candied cherries (red & green)
  • 1 C pecan halves

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl combine flour, egg, butter, Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar, milk and vanilla together. Mix at low speed until a dough forms (1-2 minutes). Stir in cherries and nuts. On a lightly floured surface shape dough into two 10-inch rolls. Wrap each roll in plastic; chill for 1 to 2 hours.
  2. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 400° F.
  3. Remove dough from refrigerator and cut into ¼-inch thick slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 7-10 minutes. Cool.
