36315843 - the steamed vegetables with a sour cream

Broccoli-Cauliflower Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 stalks of broccoli, chopped
  • 1 med. head of cauliflower, chopped
  • 1 lb. bacon cooked and crumbled (½ lb. if preferred)
  • 2 T Pioneer® Sugar
  • 2 T vinegar
  • 1 C mayonnaise or Miracle Whip® salad dressing
  • 1 C shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Wash and drain broccoli and cauliflower thoroughly before cutting up in bite size pieces.
  2. In a frying pan, fry bacon until crisp; cool and crumble.
  3. Mix vegetables in large bowl add Pioneer® Sugar, vinegar, mayonnaise, bacon and cheese. Mix gently making sure everything is coated well. Refrigerate covered 6-8 hours or overnight for best results. Gently stir and pour into desired serving dish.
 

Cook's Note

To make broccoli really green, steam it for 1 to 2 minutes before chopping. Rinse with cold water and drain.
