Ingredients

  • ¼ C dates, chopped
  • 1 C boiling water
  • ¼ C Pioneer® Sugar
  • 1 C butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ¾ C flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 C chocolate chips
  • ½ C nuts (walnuts), chopped

Directions

  1. Mix the dates and boiling water together; set aside to cool.
  2. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan; set aside.
  3. Beat together Pioneer® Sugar, butter and eggs until creamy. Add flour and baking soda, gradually stir in the date mixture and vanilla; mix well. Add chocolate chips and nuts.
  4. Pour into prepared baking pan and bake for 30 minutes.
