Spike’s Sneaky Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 C butter
  • 6 oz. unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 2 C Pioneer® Sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 ½ tsp. vanilla
  • 1 ½ C flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. ground allspice
  • ½ tsp. finely ground fresh black pepper
  • ½ tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 C walnuts, finely ground
  • 1 bag (12 oz.) Hershey’s mint chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan; set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan melt butter and unsweetened chocolate over low-heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Stir Pioneer® Sugar into cooled chocolate mixture in saucepan. Beat eggs, and add slowly to chocolate mixture. Stir in vanilla. In a bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and dry spices.
  4. Add flour mixture to chocolate mixture until combined. Stir in nuts and mint chocolate chips.
  5. Spread the batter in the prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool on wire rack for at least 20 minutes before cutting.
