Ribs with Beer Marinade

Ingredients

  • 1 qt. beer (favorite brand)
  • 2 C Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 C cider vinegar
  • 1 T chili powder
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2 tsp. hot red pepper flakes
  • 4-6 lbs. pork spareribs

Directions

  1. Combine beer, Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar, vinegar, chili powder, cumin, mustard and red pepper flakes in a large pan. Bring to a boil; remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Place ribs in a large shallow roasting pan (do not use aluminum). Pour marinade over ribs. Cover lightly and place in refrigerator. Turn ribs several times while they marinate for a 24 hour period.
  3. Drain ribs, reserving marinade. Arrange ribs on grill or rib rack and smoke. Cook 6 to 7 hours or until meat is tender. Baste with marinade every 20–30 minutes.
 

Cook's Note

This marinade goes well with any meat that is going to be smoked or grilled.
