Polish Apple Cake

Cake Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ C Pioneer® Sugar
  • 1 C vegetable oil
  • 3 LG eggs, beaten
  • 1 C Michigan Golden Delicious apples, peeled and chopped small
  • 1 C walnuts, chopped
  • 2 C flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Frosting Ingredients:

  • 3 ¾ C Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar
  • 1/8 C Dream Whip, dry
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ C Crisco shortening
  • ¼ tsp vanilla
  • 1/3 C milk
  • ¼ C walnuts, finely chopped

Cake Directions

  1. Preheat oven 350° F. Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch baking pan; set aside.
  2. Mix together in a large mixing bowl Pioneer® Sugar and oil. Add in eggs, Michigan apples and walnuts.
  3. In a separate bowl sift together flour, salt, cinnamon and baking soda. Add to sugar mixture and mix well.
  4. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 35 – 40 minutes. Remove from oven and place on wire rack to cool completely before frosting.

Frosting Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl add Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar, Dream Whip, salt, shortening, vanilla and milk. Mix on high with electric mixer for 4 minutes, until fluffy. Spread on top of cake and sprinkle with walnuts.
