Orange Liqueur Brownies

Ingredients

  • ¾ C butter or margarine
  • 6 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tsp. orange-flavored liqueur
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 C Pioneer® Sugar
  • 1 C all-purpose flour

Frosting:

  • ½ C butter of margarine, softened
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • 2 C Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar
  • 3 T orange-flavored liqueur

Glaze:

  • 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 tsp. butter or margarine

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Lightly grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan; set aside.
  2. In small, heavy saucepan over low-heat, melt butter and chocolate stirring constantly until well blended. Let cool.
  3. In large bowl, beat eggs, liqueur and vanilla at highest speed until thick and lemon colored. Gradually add Pioneer® Sugar, beat until fluffy. Add chocolate mixture; blend well.
  4. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Fold in flour.
  5. Spread in prepared pan and bake for 25-35 minutes or until set and brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely.

Frosting:

  1. In a small bowl, beat butter until fluffy. Add salt, vanilla Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar and liqueur, beat until smooth and creamy. Spread over cooled brownies.

Glaze:

  1. In small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate and butter, stirring constantly until well blended. Drizzle over frosted brownies. Refrigerate until firm. Cut into bars and store in refrigerator.
