Hawaiian Cocktail Sausages

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pkgs. heat and serve sausages
  • 1 T cornstarch
  • ¼ C white vinegar
  • ¼ C water
  • ½ C pineapple juice
  • ½ C Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar
  • ½ green pepper, cut into small pieces
  • 1 C pineapple chunks
  • ½ C maraschino cherries

Directions

  1. Remove sausages from package and cut into bite size pieces. In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, brown sausages. Remove and drain on paper towel and let cool. Discard excess grease.
  2. Meanwhile, in the same pan, add the cornstarch, water, vinegar, pineapple juice, Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar and green peppers; bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes. Add pineapple chunks, cherries and sausages. Simmer for 20-30 minutes to combine flavors.
 

Cook's Note

This can be made ahead and frozen or refrigerated before use. Just heat on stove or in crock-pot.
