Crunchy Butterscotch Bars

Ingredients

  • ½ C butter or margarine, softened
  • ¾ C Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 T milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ¾ C all-purpose flour
  • ¾ C quick-cooking oats
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¾ C English toffee bits
  • ⅓ C pecans, chopped
  • ¾ C vanilla frosting

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a 9-inch square baking pan; set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl cream butter and Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar together. Beat in eggs, milk and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl combine flour, oats, baking powder and salt; add to the creamed mixture. Fold in the toffee bits and pecans. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 20-24 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
  4. Spread frosting over the bars. Cut into diamond shapes.
 

Cook's Note

For an extra flair, add food coloring to your frosting.
