Ingredients

  • 2 C Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 C butter, softened
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 4 C flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 C maraschino cherries, chopped
  • 1 C nuts, chopped
  • 1 C dates dusted with 1 tsp. flour, chopped

Frosting:

  • 1 lb. Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar
  • ½ C butter, softened
  • Coffee (liquid), enough to make the right consistency to spread over cookies

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a cookie sheet; set aside.
  2. Cream butter, and Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar and beat until fluffy. Add beaten eggs, flour, baking soda, salt and vanilla, beating with each addition. Fold in cherries, nuts and dates. Drop tablespoons of batter on prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

Frosting:

  1. In a mixing bowl add Pioneer® Confectioners Powdered Sugar, butter and coffee. Beat until smooth. Spread over cooled cookies and sprinkle with sugar colored with red and green food coloring to decorate.
