All-purpose Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients

  • 5 C ketchup
  • 6 T Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 drops hot pepper sauce
  • 1 C vinegar
  • 1 ¾ C Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar, packed
  • 6 C water
  • 6 tsp. salt
  • 6 tsp. celery seed
  • 6 T instant minced onion
  • 1 bottle Smokey type barbecue sauce
  • 1 bottle chili sauce

Directions

  1. In a crock-pot add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, vinegar, Pioneer® Golden Light Brown Sugar and water together. Mix well.
  2. Add salt, celery seed, minced onion, smokey barbecue sauce and chili sauce. Give it a good stir.
  3. Cover and cook on low-heat for 4 – 5 hours or until desired thickness. Stir occasionally. Adjust seasonings as needed.
  4. When cool, store in glass jars in the refrigerator.
